The Life of King David (Biography)
King David was the greatest king of the people of Israel in the Old Testament. He was a great warrior, poet, and leader. When God became displeased with King Saul, he had the Prophet Samuel anoint a young David to become the future king of his people. David showed the strength of God’s blessing in his defeat of the giant Philistine warrior Goliath. King Saul enlisted David in his army, but the young man’s military victories outshined his own successes. After many failed attempts to kill David and defeat him in battle, King Saul died giving David the opportunity to rise to the throne. King David continued his military victories and united the people of Israel against the many enemies that surrounded them.
